The MELCAH VILLAGE HOA officers invited all their members, stakeholders, active players of the Community Mortgage Program, the City Local Government of General Santos especially the City Mayor, Ronnel C. Rivera, and the Office of The Vice Mayor represented by Ms. Yolanda Olaer, the landowner, Mr. Christian M. Samijon, Social Housing Finance Corporation represented by Ms. Juana Leonora G. Melodias of Region XII, the CMP Mobilizer representing KPS Foundation Inc., Barangay Captain, Ryan Arthur Dupalco, the Purok Chairman and City Councilor in the person of Hon. Lulu Casabuena to witness the celebration of their THANKSGIVING and LOAN TAKE-OUT activity held last August 23, 2021, at the Multipurpose Hall of the community.
Present also were representatives of the City Housing and Land Management Office, Mr. Joel Cimafranca, and some HOA Presidents of neighboring taken-out CMP projects mobilized by KPS Foundation, Inc., namely: Allain Bonn Bolawan, President of Victoria Village HOA; Mary Ann Sabado, President of Melecia Village HOA; and Ma. Joan Sayon, Secretary of SRS Amazing Grace HOA.
The activity started with a Thanksgiving Mass celebration in the morning; followed by a formal program at exactly 11:00 am, with an introduction and opening remarks given by the HOA President, Norma T. Quezon; followed by a brief occupancy background given by Estrella Gallego, one of the pioneering occupants of the community.
MELCAH Village HOA was organized last July 21, 2016, because of the impending demolition order issued to the occupants of Purok San Miguel, Barangay Calumpang, Gen. Santos City, where some of their members came from.
For the past five years of organizing, capacity building, and documentation process, the HOA members have achieved their dream project milestone — the LOAN TAKE OUT to be paid to the landowner, and which will now pave the way to the realization of each and every member’s ambition to own a piece of land where they can build their own home and dreams.
MELCAH Village HOA was taken out last August 4, 2021, with total loan proceeds of Php 4,772,000.00 from Social Housing Finance Corporation, to be paid monthly by the members in 25 years starting September 4, 2021. Such payments will be monitored by the CMP Mobilizer of the MELCAH Village HOA — KPS Foundation, Inc., to ensure a good collection efficiency rating.
