In 2006, a socialized housing project was organized by KPSFI and named “Leddaville”. The raw land acquisition project was located at Purok Pagkakaisa, Barangay San Pablo, Tacurong City; its title was previously registered in the name of Valentina Ledda, a prominent landholder living at the same address, who benevolently shared a portion of their conjugal properties to informal settlers and urban poor members in Tacurong City under the guidance and facilitation of KPS Foundation.
After more than a decade of organizing, the Leddaville Project has long been fully paid, with the landowner having executed an absolute deed of sale transferring their property to KPS Foundation Inc., for and on behalf of its member-beneficiaries.
The facilitating NGO (non-government organization) spent a considerable period working with government bureaucracy on the transfer of title. KPSFI finally got the approval of the said socialized housing project with License to Sell and Certificate of Registration from the Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB) for the Leddaville Homeowners Association Inc., as partner homeowners organization in this project.
Presently KPSFI has already processed 292 individual titles, registered in the name of KPS Foundation, ready for turn over to member-beneficiaries. To finalize the process, however, the individualization of member’s tax declaration with the office of City Assessors at Tacurong City must be worked out.
The next crucial step will be the execution of the Individual Deed of Absolute Sale to members who have fully paid their home lots, including their individual titling contribution.
KPSFI is planning to have a turnover ceremony with its member-beneficiaries, and partner LGUs of Barangay San Pablo and the City of Tacurong, hopefully on or before December 2021; after which the lot owner-members will be on their own processing the transfer of individual titles in the name of KPSFI to the particular lot owner-members.
