On July 31, 2024, a significant event unfolded in the Leddaville community. The KPS Foundation Inc. (KPSFI) staff, including key figures like Ms. Arlene Bohol-Panizales, Mr. Rogelio R. Funclara, Ms. Gelsa P. Pocdol, Mr. Eugenio B. Reyla, and Mr. Ricky A. Cabunyag, along with Hon. Barangay Councilor Bradley Jacob, gathered to witness the Turnover of Titles for Donated Area, Oath Taking Ceremony, and Induction of Leddaville Homeowners’ Association (HOA) Officers.
This momentous occasion marked an important milestone in the development and empowerment of this vibrant community.
Leddaville, a successful project under KPSFI’s LANDS Program, has been instrumental in providing urban poor and lotless individuals with affordable land ownership. As the project concluded its three phases, the community eagerly awaited the distribution of individual titles. Leddaville’s diverse population, representing various cultures and backgrounds, has fostered a harmonious and inclusive environment that promotes belonging and acceptance for all.
To further strengthen community development, the Leddaville HOA formally donated 18 lots to the local government unit (LGU) of Barangay San Pablo. These lots will be utilized for road networks and essential community facilities, enhancing the quality of life for the residents.
Moreover, the donated spaces will serve as catalysts for various development initiatives, including improved infrastructure, cultural and educational facilities, recreational areas, and other essential amenities. These projects align with the aspirations and dreams of the community members, paving the way for a more prosperous and sustainable future.
During the ceremony, HOA Vice President Mr. Joseph Lorenzana extended a warm welcome to all attendees, setting a positive and enthusiastic tone for the event. Subsequently, KPSFI Vice President Mr. Rogelio R. Funclara expressed his gratitude to the HOA officers for their dedication and contributions to the community’s progress. He emphasized KPSFI’s role as a facilitator between landowners and member-beneficiaries, supporting urban poor communities without engaging in property development.
Next, Hon. Bradley Jacob, Barangay Councilor of San Pablo, administered the oath-taking ceremony and delivered an inspiring message to the newly elected HOA officers. He encouraged unity, inclusivity, and collaboration, emphasizing the potential for significant community growth through dedication and commitment.
Consequently, Leddaville’s harmonious coexistence between Christians and Muslims exemplifies the power of cultural diversity to foster strong bonds and shared values. In addition, Ms. Arlene B. Panizales, the Finance and Admin Director of KPSFI, expressed her appreciation to the Leddaville HOA and the Tacurong-LGU for their valuable participation. She commended the HOA officers for their leadership and positive influence on the community. KPSFI reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the HOA’s future plans and programs.
Gelsa Pocdol, head of KPSFI’s Education and Training, and Community Mortgage Program (CMP) unit, and a council member of the NAPC-NUPSC, emphasized the critical role of HOAs in community development. She encouraged HOA officers to actively participate in community initiatives and collaborate with government agencies to address local challenges and protect homeowners’ rights.
